CHAFFEE -- Cornelia "Connie" Shuford, 95, died at 5:15 p.m. July 19, 2005, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.
Born Dec. 23, 1909, in Obion, Tenn., daughter of the late Matty T. and Bertha Lippard McCoy, she taught five years at Chaffee High School. She was a retired field representative for the Missouri State Department of Revenue. A member of First Baptist Church in Chaffee, she was also a national legislative representative in Washington, D.C., for UTU Ladies Auxiliary, president of the Democratic Party in Scott County, first president of Chaffee Business and Professional Club and committee woman for the Kelso township.
On Aug. 10, 1943, she married William L. Shuford who preceded her in death on June 12, 1982.
Three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one brother, Bob McCoy of Hayti; and one sister, Peggy Womack of Jonesboro, Ark.
Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. Friday until time for services at 2 p.m. at Amick-
Burnett Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Watis Harrell will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Cape Girardeau.
Pallbearers will be: Bill Sullivan, H.B. Rice, Bill Ferrell, Dewaine Shaffer, Kevin Teegarden and David Summers.
