CHARLESTON - Mary Sue Atteberry, 94, died at 2:27 p.m. July 20, 2005, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 14, 1911, at McCool, Miss., daughter of the late Walter Phillip and Hattie Wade Atteberry, she had lived in Charleston most of her life. A lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston, where she worked in the preschool department for a number of years and was the last surviving worker of the church's first Vacation Bible School that was held in 1926. She was employed as secretary for a number of years in the family business, The Atteberry Dairy. She later worked at Winchester Chevrolet until her retirement in 1983.
Survivors include: one brother, Phil Atteberry of Charleston; two sisters, Thelma Bess of Sikeston and Louise "Til" Moran of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Friday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Keith Huffman, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Boyd Atteberry, Clark Atteberry, Blair Moran, Baxter Southern, Gordon Southern and Tom Graham.
