SIKESTON - W. U. Meyers, insurance merchant, was elected president of the Sikeston Lions Club at the organization's luncheon meeting at the Dunn Hotel.
ORAN - Sunday, the Oran Chamber of Commerce invites the people of Oran and area to attend the dedicatory exercise at the George Tilles Jr. Memorial Park. Speakers will be Mrs. P.G. Fisher of Sullivan, president of the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri, and Lee C. Fine, director of parks, Missouri State Park Board, Jefferson City.
JEFFERSON CITY - Sikeston and North Lilbourn are among 65 cities and counties throughout the state to receive 1985 Community Development Block Grant Awards. Sikeston, as announced recently, received $251,000 for use for housing while $442,000 was awarded to the community of North Lilbourn for drainage and housing projects.
SIKESTON - Hedrick Exotic Animal Farm and Productions in currently in Sikeston. The farm, set up on the K-mart parking lot, has several different types of animals which children may feed and pet. Two-year-old Brandi Burton had an exciting time feeding the animals but not all children had the same response. Two-year-old Chelsea Cross shied away from a "friendly" goat.

SIKESTON - Brad Ryan Blanchard is participating in the Cooperative Education Program at Mississippi State University. As a major in the area of professional golf management, Blanchard is working toward a degree and is a co-op student on alternating semesters in Augusta, Ga., with West Lake Country Club.
