MCKENZIE -- The Sikeston Bulls lost an opportunity to escape the Kit League basement as a result of two losses to the Tennessee T's over the weekend.

The losses on Friday and Saturday, the Bulls' fourth and fifth in six games with the T's, dropped the Bulls into a tie for last place with the T's, seven games off the pace of league-leading Owensboro.

Sikeston fell behind early in an 11-7 defeat on Friday.

The T's took a 6-0 first-inning lead. The Bulls battled back to close the gap to 7-6 in the top of the seventh, but two runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth sealed the deal for the T's.

The Bulls, led by three hits each from Tyler Martin and Bo Whitaker, outhit the T's 13-11. DH Sean Bard and Tyson Mulvaney collected two hits apiece with a team-leading two RBIs each.

Bard, the team's leading hitter at .359 and only Bull with a homer, slammed his third of the season.

Justin Rodgers (2-2) took the loss.

On Saturday, the Bulls got a strong mound performance from Mulvaney, in his first start of the season, but fell 4-3 to the T's.

Sikeston tied the game at 3 with a single run in the top of the seventh, but the T's came back with the game-winning run in the bottom of the inning. Mulvaney, who went seven innings, took the loss. He was charged with four runs, two earned, on eight hits with three strikeouts and three walks.

Sikeston again outhit the home team 10-9, led by J.D. Glenn, Whitaker and Bard with two hits each.
