SIKESTON -- John William "Jay" Reed III, 32, died Jan. 4, 2008, in Sikeston.
Born Jan. 5, 1975, in Jefferson City to John William Reed II and Prudence Garber of Jefferson City, he was a member of the Miner Baptist Church and a self-
employed building contractor.
On Jan. 12, 2002, he married Brooke Hendricks who survives of the home.
In addition to his parents and wife, survivors include: one son, Jake Dawson Reed of the home; his paternal grandparents, John William and Katherine Reed Sr. of Jefferson City; maternal grandmother, Minnie Fortson of Jefferson City; two brothers, Jeff Reed of Overland Park, Kan., and Adam Garber of Jefferson City; his stepmother, Reva Reed of Jefferson City; one stepsister, Tausha Bryan of Jefferson City; and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Ponder Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Mitch Jackson and the Rev. Jason Grubbs will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Chris Lambert, Jared Self, Will Lough, Phil Dewitt, Mike Means and Wes Means.
