PORTAGEVILLE -- Lillie Bell Patton, 65, died Jan. 3, 2008, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 12, 1942, in Oran to the late Jonas and Idell Lewis Thornton, she was a member of the Bible Believers Outreach Ministries in Marston.

On Feb. 18, 1970, in Bloomfield, she married James Patton who preceded her in death in 1992.

Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Margaret Wilson; two sisters, Victoria Blacksure and Margaree Marie Slaughter; five brothers: Bobby Joe Thornton, Eugene Thornton, Albert Thornton, Lawrence Thornton and Jonas Thorton Jr.; and one grandson, Vernell Jackson Jr.

Survivors include: three sons, Henry Wilson of Kansas City, Mo., Johnny Wilson of Elgin, Ill., and Michael Wilson of Portageville; three daughters, JoAnn Jackson of New Madrid, Aretha Kershaw of Portageville and Magnolia West of Columbia; one brother, Charles Thornton of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Mary Louise Davis of Tiptonville, Tenn., Aretha Milner of Parma and Marie Smith of Poplar Bluff; and 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the DeLisle Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at the Word of Victory Church with Ned Bernard officiating.

Burial will follow at the Simmons Cemetery at Catron.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.
