SIKESTON -- John Lester Bryant, 62, died April 12, 2005, at Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil, from injuries sustained in an accident while on a business trip with Tetra Pak Materials Inc.

Born Aug. 3, 1942, in Morehouse, son of the late John Henry and Elma Newton Bryant, he was plant manager for Tetra Pak Materials Inc. for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Trinity Gospel Church, Ducks Unlimited, Scott County Republican Committee and the Sikeston Elks Lodge.

On Feb. 18, 1967, in Sikeston, he married Brenda Stacy who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Jeffery John Bryant of Sikeston; two brothers, Ron Bryant of Youngsville, La., and Glen Bryant of Salem, Ill.; two sisters, Joy Appleton of Sikeston and Judy Cole of Pevely; and one granddaughter, Ashley Bryant of Sikeston.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Gospel Church with the Rev. Larry Davis, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
