BELL CITY -- Willie Peat, 78, died at 9:55 a.m. at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston.
Born June 15, 1927, in Crawford, Miss., son of the late Arste and Lizzie Owen Peat, he worked for many years in the Bell City community as a farmer until his illness.
His wife, Airlean Walker, preceded him in death in 2003.
Survivors included: two nieces, Norma Robinson and Ellioet Cotton-Herrion of Sikeston; and one nephew, Edward Segers of Marion, Ind.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Saturday until time for services at noon at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Alex Sims will officiate.
Burial will follow in the J.C. Pullen Memorial Cemetery at Bell City.
Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
