CAPE GIRARDEAU - Richard Craig Bomar, 50, formerly of Blodgett, died Aug. 21, 2006, at his home.
Born March 20, 1956, in Greenville, S.C., son of Richard Harrison and Dora Dean Shelby Bomar of Cape Girardeau, he had lived most of his live in the Blodgett area before moving five years ago to Cape Girardeau where he was employed as the manager of the AM and PM Convenience Store. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and of the Baptist belief.
On Oct. 17, 2005, he married Donna Patricia Stevenson Smith who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Becky Bomar of Cape Girardeau; two stepdaughters, April James and Julia Smith of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Alice Bomar and Susan McDaniel of Herrin, Ill.; one granddaughter, Bethany Jo Bomar of Cape Girardeau; and one step-grandson, Gavin James of Cape Girardeau.
One granddaughter, Emma Dean Bomar, preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 2006.
Graveside services with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honors Program will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston. The Rev. Thomas Kiefer, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, will serve as Celebrant.
Burial will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
