SIKESTON - Frank's Cafe has been leased to A.B. Goldstein of Memphis, Tenn., and J.R. Fitzpatrick of Blytheville, Ark., Frank Atkinson, owner, announced yesterday. Fitzpatrick and Golstein plan to open a jewelry store at some time next month after redecorating has been completed.
SIKESTON - The Annual Spring Festival of Bands will be presented by the Southeast Missouri High School Band Association at the Sikeston Armory March 24. This Festival is the Eastern Division of the Band Association and is one of seven such festivals to be held during a two-week period in March.
SIKESTON - "Inherit the Wind," the spring Sikeston Little Theatre production, will open tonight at the Chaney-Harris Cultural Center. The drama in three acts, written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, is under the direction of Theda May Cleek of Sikeston, who is assisted by Brenda Underhill and Lisa Couch.
EAST PRAIRIE - After a review of terms and conditions relating to the Rural Enterprise Community Grant of approximately $2.95 million, the city council authorized Mayor Lonnie Thurmond to sign an agreement for the city to seek administrative funds from the grant.
BENTON - Four Scott County residents were appointed to the two-county committee designed to further the installation of emergency telephone service in Scott and New Madrid counties. Drew Juden, Mike Westrich, Brad Hahn and Bill Holmes will join New Madrid County residents Ralph Barnwell, Glenn Gill, Randall Ramsey and Billy Harris on the E-911 committee.
