Born Aug. 5, 1920, at Ash Hill, to the late Solomon W. and Lydia Russ Johnson, he was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Washington, American Legion Post 218 and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving during World War II.
On May 31, 1939, at Poplar Bluff, he married Dorothy Jolly who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Ralph Brinker of Washington and Annette and James Ruether of Union; one daughter-
in-law, Vivian Johnson of Sikeston; and 10 grandchildren and 22 great-
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: one son, William Darins Johnson; three brothers, Roy Johnson, Van Johnson and William Johnson; and two sisters, Gladys Reasons and Evelyn Allen.
Services were conducted Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home in Washington.
Burial followed in the St. Peter's Cemetery in Washington.
