Lela Kegley
CAMPBELL - Lela Ovey Shelton Kegley, 95, died March 26, 2008, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
Born March 25, 1913, at Clarkton, to the late William R. and Willard Ovey Bailey Shelto, she had been a supervisor of Campbell School cafeteria and was a member of the Campbell General Baptist Church.
On Oct. 1, 1932, at Clarkton, she married James Odell Kegley, who preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1999.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd Shelton, W.R. Shelton and Elton Shelton; and three sisters, Stella Price, Ada Shelton and Marcella Kegley.
Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, James Myron and Shirley Kegley of Sikeston and Darwyn and Judith Kegley and Perry and Carolyn Kegley of Fredericktown; one daughter and son-in-law, Joann and Wallace Christian of Florissant; one brother, Ferrell Shelton of St. Louis; four sisters, Cinderella Ballentine of Sun Lake, Ariz., Alma Pollard of St. Louis and Mozella Show and Joyce Burke of Flint, Mich.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Hartense Russom of Campbell.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Darren Baker will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Lynn Oak Cemetery in Clarkton.
