Staffing changes

Sunday, June 25, 2006

SIKESTON - Changes in the staffing at the Standard Democrat are designed to improve customer service, according to newspaper officials.

Lisa Cox is a new advertising consultant with the newspaper. Kathie Archie, a long-time member of the advertising staff, is now serving as the advertising director for the Standard Democrat.

"Hometown customer service is our number one priority," said DeAnna Nelson, director of operations. "That is what we believe our retailers will continue to receive as a result of these changes."

A native of New Madrid, Cox is a 2005 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University where she earned a degree in advertising. She is married and the mother of a 1-year-old daughter.

"We are pleased to have Lisa on board," said Nelson. "We feel that with her positive, outgoing personality along with her education and retail background she will be a welcomed addition to the Standard Democrat family."

Nelson also praised the promotion of Archie to head the advertising department for the newspaper, noting her extensive experience has made the transition a smooth one. Archie, a native of Sikeston, has two sons and six grandchildren.
