SIKESTON - John T. Griffin, 81, died March 7, 2008, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 7, 1926, in Matthews, to the late John T. and Esther Dickson Griffin Sr., he worked for O & A Auto Parts and was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ and the American Legion in Jefferson City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II.
On Dec. 26, 1955, in Landers Ridge, he married Norma Gillham, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Stanley Griffin of Jackson, Tenn.; one daughter, Joy Lawrence of Sikeston; one sister, Betty Jones of Sikeston; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday. Pat Hogan, minister of Shady Acres Church of Christ, will officiate.
Burial with full military honors conducted by the Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Kenny Lawrence, Adam Lawrence, John Vernon Lawrence, Stephen Elliott, Jeremy Capel and Jeremy Hunt.
