Monday, June 13, 2005

SIKESTON -- The Bootheel Bombers dropped their second straight in a 5-2 loss to the Farmington Firebirds on Friday at V.F.W. Memorial Stadium.

The Bombers managed only three hits off winning pitcher Mike Cole.

Trey Bowman suffered the loss.

"We played a solid game," said Bombers manager Matt Marshall, "but they found the holes and we didn't."

Kolby Green, Ryan Cobb and Bowman split the Bombers' hits. Sean Coker drew three bases on balls.

Farmington (2-0) defeated the Bombers 5-3 in the opening game of the newly-formed Kitty League on Thursday.

The Bombers (0-2) travel to Fulton, Ky., to meet the Railroaders on Sunday at 2 p.m.
