MALDEN -- Nathaniel "Red" Rainey, 80, died May 16, 2006, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born June 6, 1925, at Melvina, Miss., son of the late Pank and Alberta Rushing Rainey, he was a retired farmer and member of New Hope Missionary Church of Bernie.
On April 27, 1946, in Boyle, Miss., he married Nelvia Mae Moore who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: seven sons, Nathaniel Bill Rainey of Gafton, Ill., Willie Rainey of St. Louis, McKinley Rainey of Parma, Anthony Rainey of Madison, Iowa, Roscoe Gordon Rainey of St. Louis, Cornelius Rainey of St. Louis and Lawrence Rainey of Orlando, Fla.; four daughters, Nelvia Mae Donaldson of Cleveland, Ohio, Mandy Ophelia Rainey of Malden, Alberta Johnson of Parma and Amina M. Higgs of Lakewood, Wash.; and 42 grandchildren and 50 great-
He was also preceded in death by one son, Carl Rainey; one grandchild; and his brothers and sisters.
Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. Saturday until time for services at noon at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with the Rev. Carl Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in the Standfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
