Self honored

Sikeston head baseball coach Kevin Self (right) and assistant coach Alan Scheeter attach a sign bearing Heath Self's No. 7 jersey number on the fence at VFW Stadium on Monday prior to Sikeston's district game against Doniphan. The sign is in memory of Self, who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in 2004. A 2001 Sikeston High School graduate, Self was a three-sport athlete, starting in football, basketball and baseball. As a senior, he helped lead Sikeston's baseball team to a second place finish in Class 3A.
