PORTAGEVILLE - Lillian W. Downing, 89, died Sept. 30, 2005. at Portageville Nursing Center.
Born Nov. 5, 1915, in Tennessee, daughter of the late John and Lena Patterson Warren, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville.
She married Harry James Downing in Hayward, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1980.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary W. Downing of Memphis, Tenn., and James W. Downing of Arlington, Tenn.; one daughter, Peggy Downing of Portageville; one sister, Evelyn Green of Braggadocia; and eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: three brothers, Lawrence Warren, Mike Warren and James Edward Warren; and one sister, Ruth Dixon.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Portageville. The Rev. Dr. Buck Morton officiated.
Burial followed in the Portageville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Gary Baker, Jerry Warren, Bill Foster, Windell Wilson, Monty Cotham and Stanley Downing.
