MONTGOMERY, Texas - Tommy Lee Gleason Sr., 84, died Dec. 21, 2005, in Conroe, Texas.
Born June 4, 1921, in Eskridge, Kan., he served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Most of his life was dedicated to the telecommunications industry building KAWL radio station in York, Neb., and founding Galaxy Cablevision in Sikeston, Mo., in 1979.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Gleason of Montgomery; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and David Christy of Montgomery; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy L. and Carol Gleason and James M. and Stephanie Gleason of Sikeston; one brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Pauline Gleason of Junction City, Kan.; and grandchildren, Ellen, Sarah, and Neal Christy, Aaron and Brenda Gleason, Suzanne and John Baros, Sam Gleason, Mary-Claire Gleason and Caroline Gleason; and great grandchildren, Katelyn Baros, Justin Baros and Carter Gleason.
Services were at 10 a.m. today in April Sound Church with Rev. Dowen Johnson officiating.
Burial followed in Garden Park Cemetery with Cashner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Aaron Gleason, David Christy, Keith Davidson, Mark Anderson, Steven Naccarato and Ron Voss.
