Murakami captures Super Pro feature at Sikeston Drag Strip

SIKESTON -- Mark Murakimi of Cape Girardeau edged Royce Thomason of Malden to win the Super Pro division at the Sikeston Drag Strip on Saturday.

Murakami ran at an average speed of 110.24 mph with an elapsed time of 6.181 on a 6.18 dial-in. His reaction time was .504 seconds.

Thomason's run averaged 111.08 mph with an e.t. of 6.117 on a 6.12 dial-in and a reaction time of .505.

Dennis Harty of Dudley won the Pro division. He averaged 96.54 mph with an e.t. of 6.984 on a dial-in of 6.98 and a reaction time of .516.

Runner-up in the Pro division was Dave Slayden of Diehlstadt with an average speed of 90.01 mph with an e.t. of 7.537 on a dial-in of 7.52 and a r.t. of .546.

Sikeston's Corey Lowe took the checkered flag in the ET class with an average speed of 70.74 mph in an e.t. of 8.838 on a dial-in of 8.79. His reaction time was .608.

Blake Jones of Bertrand finished second with a speed of 72.13 mph in an e.t. of 9.412 on a dial-in of 9.37 with an reaction time of .664.
