SIKESTON - Richard Ginder, 65, died Feb. 28, 2006, at his home.
Born March 12, 1940, in Mattoon, Ill., son of Helen Thurman Ginder of Mattoon and the late Raymond Willard Ginder, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, Shriners in Sikeston and JCI Senator in Illinois. He was a pyrotechnician and shot fireworks at Union City, Tenn., for 20 years and worked for DeCota Electric in Sikeston from 1977 until his retirement in March 2005.
On April 5, 1964, in Mattoon, he married Patty Ashworth, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Billie Ginder of Sikeston and Josh and Misty Ginder of Andrews Air Force Base, Md.; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Gerald Giese of Godfrey, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Jon Ginder and Addie Ginder, both of Sikeston.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Geoff Posegate, senior pastor of First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Rick Lasley, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Fredericktown and the Rev. Ron Spell, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church will be co-officiating.
