EAST PRAIRIE -- Ruby June Baker, 86, died at 4:35 p.m. May 10, 2006, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born June 3, 1919, in Oran, to the late Howard Edward and Laura Annie Owensby Levan, she had lived in East Prairie a number of years, having lived in the Mississippi County area her entire life. She was a member of the St. James General Baptist Church in East Prairie.

On Oct. 2, 1937, she married Robert Lee Baker who preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1986.

One son, Thomas Edward Baker; one daughter, Patsy Mathis; two brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: three sons, Robert David Baker of Wardell, Norman Wayne Baker of Arnold and Earl Eugene Baker of Haywood City; two daughters, Wilma Stewart of Waterloo, Ill., and Michelle Riggins of East Prairie; and 15 grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. David Dowdy, pastor of St. James General Baptist Church of East Prairie, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
