ST. LOUIS - James Stanley Varnon, 67, died March 6, 2006, at his home.
Born Dec. 12, 1939, in Harviell, to the late John Sam and Pauline Varnon, he attended school in Morley, where he spent most of his early life. He was retired from his St. Louis nursery business, Varnon Tree Service.
He is survived by his wife Glenda; two sons, Matthew James Varnon of St. Peters and John Spencer Varnon of St. Louis; three daughters, Connie Varnon of St. Louis, Jacqueline Jones and Victoria Gowen of St. Charles; three brothers, Anthony and Mack Edward Varnon of Cape Girardeau, and Richard Varnon of Memphis; five sisters, Deloris Raffety of Clarksville, Tenn., Mary Sue Stacy of Chattanooga, Tenn., Betty Cruse of St. Louis, , Juanita Roodman of Morgan Hill, Calif. and Patt Sharp of Kennett; and six grandchildren, Brooklyn, Johnathon, Jacob, Kelly, Jessica and Joseph.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Friday at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons South County Funeral Home, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. in St. Louis.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fairdealing Cemetery.
