DEXTER -- Clarence Wesley Wilhite, 84, died Nov. 6, 2005, at his home.
Born Nov. 8, 1920, at Wilhite, La., son of the late Benjamin Oliver and Claudia Moore Wilhite, he was a self-employed farmer and mechanic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served 39 months in World War II of which 29 months were spent as a surgical technician in the 52nd field hospital in the Solomon Islands and Philippines.
On Nov. 2, 1946, at Bernie, he married Virginia Crain who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: three sons, Tommy Wilhite of Dexter, Frank Wilhite of Fisk and Roger Wilhite of Piedmont; two brothers, Oliver Wilhite of Fort Worth, Texas, and Paul D. Wilhite of Monroe, La.; one sister, Lorene Henry of Start, La.; and five grandchildren and five great-
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Visitation is from noon Tuesday until time of services at 2 p.m. at the Rainey-
Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with the Rev. Ivan Mekan officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
