Norma Chism
CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Norma G. Chism, 80, formerly of Benton and Sikeston, died at 12:17 p.m. March 8, 2008, at The Lutheran Home.
Born July 10, 1927, in Bell City, to the late William and Ella Menta Trentham King, she was a shoe skiver for International Shoe Company in Sikeston and Florsheim Shoe Co. in Chaffee. She was of the Church of Christ belief.
On Sept. 9, 1950, in Sikeston, she married O.C. Chism, who preceded her in death on March 15, 1975.
One son, two brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Larry Chism of Benton and Jerry Chism of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Judy Scherer of Benton and Linda Purkis of Carthage; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. at the Amick-
Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton. The Rev. Dennis Lowe will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Scherer and Harley Scherer.
