DEXTER -- Stacy Lorell Murphy, 92, died March 8, 2008, at her home.
Born Oct. 23, 1915, at Elbridge, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late E.H. and Bessie Huey Crabtree. She and her husband lived and farmed near Bernie for many years before moving in 1981 to Dexter where she attended the Southwest Church of the Nazarene.
On Aug. 12, 1933, at Dexter, she married Ralph Murphy who preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1990.
Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Alveta Jean Aycock; four brothers, Alvie Crabtree, Ervin Crabtree, Cam Crabtree and Archie Crabtree; and one sister, Lavern Hampton.
Survivors include: three sons, Quincy Murphy of Dexter and Gary Dalton Murphy and Berry Don Murphy of Bernie; two daughters, Arvilla Dean Palmer of Dexter and Linda Sue Garner of Sikeston; one brother, E.S. "Dobe" Crabtree of Elsberry; 12 grandchildren, Joy Aycock, Deana Palmer, Penny Palmer Haughey, Borden Murphy, Mitzi Murphy Goodwin, Chuck Walters, Stacy Walters, Bryan Walters, Kelly Murphy Lowrie, Gary Murphy II, Tim Murphy and Melissa Murphy Burge; and 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ed Stoner officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
