SIKESTON -- John Ellis Tinsley Sr., 48, died Nov. 4, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Jan. 4, 1957, at Cape Girardeau, son of Bernice Goins Tinsley Ashby of Sikeston and the late John Wesley Tinsley, he was a lifelong resident of Sikeston where he attended the Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church. He had worked in construction and for Uptown Shell.
On June 1, 1977, he married Cheryl A. Dock who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, John W. Tinsley Jr. and Michael S. Tinsley of the home; one brother, Arlen Hobbs of Kennett; one sister, Donna Tilley of Morehouse; and two grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Gaylord Grindstaff, pastor of the Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Ted Leonard, Phillip Carr, David Andrews, David Leonard, Dale Tilley, Greg Andrews and Chris Stewart.
