EAST PRAIRIE - Max Elmer Jenkins, 63, died at 5:15 a.m. March 26, 2006, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born Dec. 31, 1942, in East Prairie, to the late Max Leonard and Irene Boyd Jenkins, he had lived most of his life in Mississippi County and was a self-

employed truck driver. He had served with the United States Army Ranger Special Forces in Vietnam and was a member of the Catholic Church in Piedmont.

Survivors include: four sons, Max E. Jenkins Jr. of the state of Ohio, Mike Jenkins of Charleston, Davey Jenkins, stationed with the United States Navy in Iraq and Jason Jenkins of East Prairie; three daughters, Christine Jenkins of the state of Ohio, Tammy Jenkins of East Prairie and Christy Jenkins of Little Rock, Ark.; one brother, Joe Jenkins of East Prairie; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

A private memorial service will be conducted by the family at a later date with McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
