HAYWARD - H.T. Roberts, 76, died March 24, 2006, at his home.
Born Feb. 23, 1930, in Pemiscot County, son of the late Talmus and Dona McKnight Roberts, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War, and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Portageville.
On Sept. 20, 1953, in Hernando, Miss., he married Patsy Nowell who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: five sons, Larry Roberts of Hitchcock, Texas, Gary Roberts, Michael Roberts and Daniel Roberts of Portageville and Jeffrey Roberts of Newbern, Tenn.; three daughters, Sandy Schrage of League City, Texas, and Kandice Canoy and Janice Walters of Portageville; two brothers, Robert L. Roberts of Minice, Ill., and Ron Roberts of Pontiac; one sister, Juanita Roberts of the state of California; and 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, one infant son, Jamie Lee Roberts, preceded him in death.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church in Portageville. The Revs. Eugene Poole and John Keel officiated.
Burial followed in the Portageville Cemetery.
