SIKESTON - Celia "Maw" Ross, 75, died March 25, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Jan. 28, 1931, in Eddyville, Ky., son of the late Joe E. Robertson and Tyline Tucker, she was a teacher in the D.A.E.O.C. Headstart Program for over 20 years and a member of the Temple of Faith General Baptist Church.
On Sept. 13, 1947, she married James E. Ross, who preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1969.
One sister, Josephine Darnell, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jim L. "Rosco" and Vicci Ross of Essex; one daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Danny Ruby of Sikeston; one brother, Bob Roberston of Boaz, Ky.; five grandchildren, Jeff Ross, Eric Ross, Miranda Ruby and Dustin Ruby, all of Sikeston, and Julie Dodd of Bloomfield; and three great-grandchildren, Jamison Dodd, Molliane Dodd and Bryce Ross, all of Sikeston.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Loy Miller, pastor of Temple of Faith General Baptist Church and the Rev. Mitch Jackson, pastor of Miner Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Bill Ruby Sr., Bill Ruby Jr., Anthony Angle, James Dodd, Michael Robertson, Scotty Robertson, Eddie Robertson and Bobby Robertson.
