CHICAGO -- Robert Earl Whitfield, 61, died June 6, 2005, at Oak Park.
Born March 9, 1944, in Charleston, Mo., to Charlene Whitfield Mead of Lilbourn, Mo., and the late Jenneta Whitfield, he graduated from Howardville (Mo.) High School in 1965 and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving from 1968-1974.
In addition to his mother, survivors include: his stepfather, Gussie Lee Mead of Lilbourn; four sisters, Doris Pope and Paulette Young of Howardville and Gloria Robinson and Aura Lee Hampton of New Madrid, Mo.; three brothers, Albert Charles "A.C." Whitfield of Chicago, Albert L. Mead of Howardville and Ervin Mead of Lilbourn; and his fiancee, Castle Brown of Chicago.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Monday until time for services at noon at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Lilbourn with the Rev. Lawrence Williams officiating.
Burial with full military rites will follow in Simmons Park Cemetery at Catron, Mo.
Williams Funeral Home of Howardville is in charge of arrangements.
