Tripp captures first place at drag strip

SIKESTON -- Roger Tripp of Fredericktown captured the Super Pro division at the Sikeston Drag Strip on Saturday.

Tripp averaged 134.24 mph in an elapsed time of 5.212 seconds with a dial-

in of 5.21 and a reaction time of .535 seconds

Jack Maupin of Cape Girardeau finished second in 6.020 seconds with a dial-

in of 5.99 at 114.56 mph and a reaction time of .512.

Puxico''s Greg Harty claimed the top prize in the Pro class with an average speed of 102.95 mph in 6.656 sec

onds with a dial-in of 6.67 and a reaction time of .538.

Keith Hartlein of Matthews took second in the Pro class with a run of 68.78 mph with an e.t. of 7.621 (dial-in 7.03) and a reaction time of .419.

In the ET class, Bill Hooker of Herrin, Ill., was the winner at 79.80 mph with an e.t. of 8.215 (8.24 dial-in) with a r.t. of .528.

Ronald Stoneking of O''Fallon captured second with a speed of 62.16 mph in an e.t. of 11.261 (11.31 dial-in) and a r.t. of .593.
