JEFFERSON CITY - Master Sergeant Criss Ward, 56, formerly of Dexter, died Aug. 8, 2005, at the residence of his mother-in-law in Dexter.
Born Nov. 4, 1948, at Piggott, Ark., to Joyce McComb Ward of Cherokee Village, Ark., and the late James Eugene Ward, he was affiliated with the Baptist Church and on active duty with the Missouri National Guard in Jefferson City.
On Feb. 16, 1968, at Dexter, he married Rosie Grubbs, who survives of Jefferson City.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include: three daughters, Michelle Razer of Campbell, Teresa Braden of Sikeston and Crystal Crane of Clever; four brothers, the Rev. Dennis Ward of Polar Bluff, Roger Ward of Sikeston, Richard Ward of Cherokee Village and Robert Ward of Dexter; one sister, Debra Bissey of Labadie; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Dexter with the Rev. Dennis Ward officiating.
Burial will follow in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter.
