WAPPAPELLO - Betty Jean Ramsey, 72, formerly of Sikeston, died at 12:35 p.m. July 15, 2005, at her home.
Born Aug. 6, 1932, in Sikeston to the late Roy Earl and Clara Bell Gaddis Owens, she was a homemaker and affiliated with the Assembly of God faith. A licensed practical nurse for 18 years at Shuffit Nursing Home in Sikeston, retiring in 1984, she moved to Wappapello in 1988.
On Oct. 9, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., she married Gene Ramsey, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: one son, Ken Ramsey of Wappapello; three daughters, Donna Molloy and Teresa Roberts of Sikeston and Debby Adams of Wappapello; one brother, Robert Owens of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Shirley Gardner of Anderson, Ind., and Barbara Harper of Bertrand; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Robert Burns of the House of Prayer General Baptist Church in Sikeston will officiate assisted by the Rev. Matthew Shelton of Anderson, Ind.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be Ken Ramsey, Bud Adams, Denny Adams, William Williams, Ken Roberts and Gary Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Harper and Pauline Harper.
