SIKESTON -- Joanna Herndon Lee, 78, died at 2:10 a.m. July 15, 2005, at her daughter's residence in Scott City.
Born Sept. 30, 1926, in Houston, Ark., daughter of the late Roy J. and Myrtle Lott Herndon, she was a homemaker, bookkeeper and secretary. A member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, she was also a member of Business and Professional Women, Beta Sigma Phi, Foster Grandparents Program and Missouri Delta Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary.
On Sept. 3, 1955, in Perryville, she married Meredith Lee who preceded her in death on March 8, 2002.
Two brothers, Clyde L. Herndon and Kedric J. Herndon, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, M. Gregory Lee of Murray, Ky., and Terry and Jackie Herndon of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne Lee and Garry Gibbs of Scott City; one sister, Joyce Hedge of Kansas City, Kan.; five grandchildren, Rebecca Lee and Ryan Lee of Murray, Jared Herndon and Heather Herndon of Sikeston and David Adam Gibbs of Scott City; and two great-grandchildren, Megan Herndon of Sikeston and Jillian Gibbs of Scott City.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. Monday until time for services at 11 a.m. at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: M. Gregory Lee, Terry Herndon, Garry Gibbs, Jared Herndon, Clay Sloan and W.P. VanBuren.
