Kart racing heats up at SEMO Raceway

Scottie Gretzmacher of Ste. Genevieve won the Junior 1 Rookie Class
SIKESTON -- Saturday night kart racing at SEMO had Robert Lowery of Paducah, Ky., the big winner of the night with three trips to Victory Lane with 1st place finishes in Stock Heavy, Stock Medium, and the Over 35 Class.

Senior Champ Class Champion was Mark Davis of Mayfield, Ky. The Jr. Stock Class was won by Shawn Knuckles of Poplar Bluff in spite of being absent from kart racing for the better part of a year. Jr. Champ Feature winner was Callie Rezek from Symsonia, Ky. The Jr. Sportsman Champ Novice Class was won by Carson Anderson of Paducah, Ky., and the Jr. Sportsman Champ (Aqua) class was won by John Gilmore of Poplar Bluff.

The Jr. 1 Rookie Class had the #16 kart of Scottie Gretzmacher of Ste. Genevieve, making his first trip to Victory Lane at SEMO, holding the kart of John Gilmore of Poplar Bluff to a 2nd place finish. The Yard Kart Class had Dallas Hamilton of Sikeston taking the checkered flag victory holding the kart of Kevin Wright of Commerce to a 2nd place finish.

The next race at SEMO Raceway is Friday, April 28 with motocross racing, and the next kart race is Saturday May 13 when the RAMS Mini Stock Series races along with Kart Racing.
