SIKESTON -- Mildred Stanley, 95, died at 1 p.m. April 29, 2006, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born Aug. 14, 1910, in Waverly, Tenn., daughter of the late Allen W. and Eudora Byrn Warren, she was a member of the First Christian Church in Matthews and had been a social worker and supervisor for the Missouri Division of Family Services in Mississippi County for 12 years and in Scott County for 10 years. She was a volunteer for many years in extension work at the Missouri Farm Bureau and 4-H.
On Dec. 24, 1928, in Blytheville, Ark., she married Roy K. Stanley who preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1973.
Also preceding her in death were one son, Frank A. Stanley, on Jan. 17, 2003; and nine brothers and one sister.
Survivors include: four grandchildren, Dana Stanley of Lonoke, Ark., Vinn Stanley of Benton, Ark., and Allen Stanley and Laura Vaught of Little Rock, Ark.; and three great-granddaughters.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Brian Smith, pastor of the First Christian Church in Matthews, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers will be: Charles Gardner, Larry Gardner, Buddy Gardner, Tom Dawson, Jerry Maclin and Grover Morrow.
