No foul play was involved in fatal fire

Tuesday, August 2, 2005

COOTER - The State Fire Marshal's office is continuing its investigation into a fatal fire.

Bill Robinson Jr., 36, was found in the living room of the burning mobile home at 436 Childers Drive by members of the Cooter Fire Department at approximately 5:40 p.m. Sunday. According to Fire Chief Charles Barger, Robinson was unresponsive and members of the department attempted to revive him.

Robinson was then taken to the hospital at Blytheville, Ark., where he was pronounced dead. Family members stated the cause of death was smoke inhalation.

"Evidently there is no foul play," said Cooter Police Chief Ferrell Stewart. "I don't anticipate an autopsy."

The fire marshal is attempting to determine the cause of the fire. He was on the scene Sunday and returned for further investigation Monday, Stewart said.
