PORTAGEVILLE -- James Franklin Parks, 63, formerly of Hayti, died Sept. 23, 2007, in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born Sept. 15, 1944, in Portageville, son of Wilburn "Gib" Parks of Portageville and the late Mary Hazel Sherrod Parks, he was a member of the Free Trinity Pentecostal Church in Marston.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Wayne Parks and Ricky Joe Parks.

Survivors include: two sisters, Darlis Posey and Brenda Owens, both of Portageville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight in the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. The Revs. Frank Townsend and Earl Davidson will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.

Pallbearers will be: Raymond Elliott, Mark Robert Posey, Mark Edward Posey, Johnny Hall, Jay Bumpus, and Ricky Joe Parks Jr.
