NEW MADRID -- William Robert "Bill" White II, 82, died Aug. 14, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 25, 1923, in Dexter, son of the late William Robert and Ida Bell Jones White I, he was a retired shoe cobbler in New Madrid. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 595 in New Madrid.
On Jan. 22, 1947, in Carutherville, he married Thelma Elizabeth Evans White who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-
law, William Robert and Linda White III of Malden and Joe Alan White and Charles David and Jennifer White of New Madrid; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Stanfill and Murrel Atkins; and one brother, Buford White.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home Inc. in New Madrid, where services will be at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Jack Ketcher will officiate.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
