CHARLESTON - Sylvester Hamilton, 52, died Aug. 17, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center from an apparent heart attack.
Born Oct. 12, 1952, in Charleston, son of Lue Bertha Snell Hamilton of Charleston and the late Lee Virgil Hamilton, he attended Kelly School in Benton and Lincoln School in Charleston. A member of the Mercy Seat Baptist Church, he served as a Sunday school teacher.
On Sept. 1, 1979, he married Leora Easton who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: two sons, Sylvester Hamilton Jr. of Charleston and Daron Easton of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Erica and Saul Sager of Charleston and Roslyn and Kenny Holbrook of Nashville; five brothers, Bennie Howard of Chicago, Ill., Jimmie Hamilton of Kansas City, Mo., Roy Hamilton of Fort Height, Ill., and Jerome Hamilton and Leonard Hamilton of Charleston; three sisters, Bertha Kelly of Gary, Ind., and Earnestine Clark and Bernice Hamilton of Charleston; and five grandchildren.
In addition to his father, one sister preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Saturday until time for services at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Shiloh Baptist Church. The Rev. Murry Williams will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.
