There have been a lot of firsts for the Fatherhood First Program in Sikeston. Marking its first full-year of operation, the program has moved into a new location at 337 N. Main St. in Sikeston. The program, affiliated with the Missouri Regional Consortium, seeks to provide programs for men, age 16 and up, to improve their parenting skills including classes in self-esteem, anger management, finance, relationships and employment. A ribbon cutting was conducted as part of the program's open house. Pictured preparing to cut the ribbon is Cynthia Dean, CEO for the Missouri Regional Bootheel Consortium. Also attending the event were members of the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce, Fatherhood First staff members and program participants along with several guests. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
