BERNIE - Everett Lee Botts Jr., 81, died June 29, 2005, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born Dec. 16, 1923, at Birmingham, Ala., to the late Viola Allen and Everett Lee Botts Sr., he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Nevada and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. A member of the Disabled American Veterans 47 of Dexter, he was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Dexter, York Rite of Cape Girardeau, Masonic Lodge 547 of Bernie, Eastern Star 311 of Dexter and Bernie and the United Methodist Church of Bernie.
On Aug. 1, 1987, at Huntington Beach, Calif., he married Sally Loreda White who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: three daughters, Connie Tognoli of Fallbrook, Calif., Gail Moore of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Bette Jo Greene of Temecula, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Anita Gail Baker of Pagosa Springs, Calif.; two stepsons, Lynn R. Crandall of the state of Oklahoma and Larry R. Crandall of Fountain Valley, Calif.; one brother, Jack Botts of Moreno Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Bonnie Jean Hill of Raleigh, N.C., and Rosemary Beasley of the state of North Carolina; and 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Botts, and one brother, Albert Botts.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. The Rev. Susan Marner-Sides will officiate.
A Masonic service will also be conducted at that time.
A committal service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
