PARMA - Shelby Franklin Jones, 80, died Feb. 26, 2006, at his home.
Born Aug. 1, 1925, in Parma, son of the late Taylor Gilbert and Lucy Bell Marcum Jones, he had worked many years in St. Louis before returning to Parma in 1987 and was a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and received the American Area Victory Medal, four Asiatic Pacific Stars, two Philippine Liberation Stars and a Unit Commendation.
On Dec. 12, 1946, in Piggott, Ark., he married Imogene Morgan, who survives of the home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Nathen B., Clarence, Richard, Hughie, Coy, James Evert and Taylor G. Jones; and three sisters, Freda M. Morgan and Corvenia and Cecilia Irene Jones.
Graveside services with full military honors provided by the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team were conducted today at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden. Charles Mays of Malden officiated.
