SIKESTON - Emily Lou Presley, 83, died at 11:20 p.m. Feb. 26, 2006, at her home.
Born Sept. 26, 1923, at Clarkton, to the late Olsie and Cora Scarbrough Waltrip, she had owned and operated the Miner Fruit Market in Miner for 38 years before retiring in 1995. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Matthews.
On Dec. 23, 1939, at Charleston, she married Gerald Presley who preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1992.
Two sons, Jerry Presley and Lanny Presley; one brother; and one sister also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one brother, Harrison Waltrip of Sikeston; two sisters, Dean Ford of Sikeston and Virginia Ward of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren, Candace Rogers, Nichole Presley and Tracy Sides of Sikeston, Jerry Dale Presley of Cape Girardeau and Joey Presley of Kennett; and six great-
grandchildren, Branden Sides, Cassie Hastings, Cody Rodgers, Cora Burnett, Chase Rodgers and Chloe Hampton of Sikeston.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Cecil Adams of Sikeston will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Rodney Dunlap, pastor of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Matthews.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Bill Waltrip, Marty Evans, Davie Hampton, Johnny Wilson, Lonnie Polk and Eugene Adams.
