Born June 27, 1950, in Greenville, Miss., daughter of the late Ernest Y. and Mamie Long Chan, she was a member of the Sikeston Community Church. In 1973, she graduated from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi and was a registered pharmacist for Randy's Rx in Sikeston.
On March 5, 1983, she married Danny Shackles who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Justine Shackles of Cape Girardeau and Christopher and Ammie Shackles of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Richard Stuard of Wauseon, Ohio; and two brothers, John Chan of New York, N.Y., and Ernest "Doc" Chan of Houston, Texas.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Dolan Rogers, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Bertrand, officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery in Morley.
Pallbearers will be: Thomas Lowe, Matt Torbett, Jimmy Knight, Carlos Escobar, Jason Holman and Rodney Seiler.
