BLOOMFIELD -- John Hughlon Mick, 83, died March 2, 2006, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Sept. 9, 1922, in Blytheville, Ark., son of the late Hughlon and Maude Mick, he had lived in the Bloomfield community since 1957 and was a former member of the West Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. He was a retired farmer, a member of Bloomfield Lodge 153 AF&AM and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in World War II.
On March 19, 1945, he married Helen Johnson, who survives of the home in Bloomfield.
Other survivors include: three sons, John Michael Mick of Dudley, Joe Mick of Poplar Bluff and Stan Mick of Dexter; one daughter, Karen Barton of Bloomfield; one brother, Jerry Mick of Jefferson City; two sisters, Emma Lou Fitzgerald of Blytheville and Sunshine Garner of Vermillion, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
One brother, Walter Mick; and one grandson also preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. Friday until time for services at 10 a.m. at Chiles-
Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The Rev. Kevin Eskew will officiate.
Burial with full military honors provided by the Stoddard County Honor Guard will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemtery at Bloomfield.
