BENTON - Katherine Fern Hency, 65, died at 4:15 a.m. March 1, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 11, 1941, in Oriole, daughter of Mary Katherine McLain Wissman of Cape Girardeau and the late Jesse Eugene Wissman, she was a seamstress and babysitter, a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, Ladies Auxiliary Scott City V.F.W. Post 6407 and a former member of Scott City Garden Club.

On Aug. 10, 1968, she married Don Hency who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons, Greg Hency of Benton, Jeff Hency of Scott City and Kenny Hency of Chaffee; two daughters, Kathy Smith of Kansas City and Holly LaRosa of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Wayne Wissman of Fruitland, Donnie Wissman of Sedgewickville, Zane Wissman of Oak Ridge and Mark Wissman of Fruitland; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one son.

Visitation is at 4 p.m. with parish prayers at 6 p.m. Thursday at Amick-

Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. The Rev. Ralph Duffner will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Pallbearers will be: Wayne Wissman, Donnie Wissman, Zane Wissman, Mark Wissman, Jim Glover and Mike Urhahn.
