BLOOMFIELD -- Tommy Joe Hankins, 70, died Feb. 20, 2006, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Jan 15, 1936, at Miligan Ridge, Ark., son of the late James Robert and Willie Agnes Hankins, he moved at the age of 15 to the Bloomfield community where he was involved in farming, worked at Hankins Hardware and had an engine repair shop. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. in Dexter and was of the Baptist belief.

On March 24, 1954, he married Connie Layton who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Tommy Lee Hankins and Joe Hankins of Bloomfield; one half-sister, Vera Hindman of Tyronza, Ark.; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The Rev. Dan Sitze officiated.

Burial followed in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
