LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Virginia Rapert Cox, 68, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died Aug. 31, 2005, at her home in Lafayette.
Born April 16, 1937, in Middlebrook, Ark., daughter of the late Orvin Raymon and Lelia Jewell Johnston Rapert, she had lived in Lafayette since 1962 where she was a member of the Battle Ground Bible Church and had worked as an administrative assistant for ALCOA for 18 years, retiring in 1992.
On May 8, 1955, she married L. Paul Cox, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Sandra D. Flights of Lafayette and Paula M. Wilson of Martinsville, Ill.; three sisters, Geraldine Thomason of Charleston, Essie Phillips of Glendale, Ariz., and Martha Lee Hollis of Miner, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
Two brothers, Bennie L. Rapert and Aaron Esselman Rapert, preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Funeral Chapel in Lafayette.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Battle Ground Bible Chapel with Kenny Loehe and Dave Wilson, pastors, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Tippecance Memory Gardens near Lafayette.
